Listening well. Leading with clarity. Shaping Carlisle’s next chapter—together.
I love this town.
I love that my kids can walk to Banta Davis or to school through the woods. I love the stone walls, the spring peepers, and how quiet it gets after a snowfall. I love that we show up for one another—whether it’s through drive-by concerts during lockdown or rallying to support families in times of loss. Carlisle has wetlands and woods, neighbors who wave, and a shared sense of place that’s hard to put into words but easy to feel.
Carlisle is special—and like so many of you, I want to make sure the decisions we make now preserve what we love most while positioning us well for the future. I’m running for Planning Board because I believe we can meet today’s challenges with communication, clarity, and consensus.
In particular, Carlisle is facing difficult questions about growth, housing, and how we uphold the character of our town in the face of the state mandate.
These aren't new questions—we explored many of them during our Master Plan process, which centered on Carlisle's values: welcoming community, rural character, open space, great schools. What’s different now is that the MBTA Communities Act compels us to act on housing—with a firm deadline and a requirement to zone for a specific number of units.
Why I’m Running for Planning Board
It’s a complex, sometimes divisive challenge. I'm running because I believe my background in collaborative decision-making can help us navigate the issue with trust, transparency, and steadiness. And I’ve done this before—helping build practical, widely supported outcomes on both the Dog Control Subcommittee and the Master Plan Steering Committee. Read more about my community involvement.
As a member of the Planning Board, I want to make it easier for residents to follow what’s happening, understand the tradeoffs, and weigh in before the fall Town Meeting. I’d bring a focus on communication, clarity, and thoughtful problem-solving, grounded in what makes this town so special.
What Sets Me Apart As A Candidate
Planning Background
Professional Collaboration Experience
Leadership Educator
Facilitation Expertise
Accessible messaging
I have a planning background and have spent decades helping people work through complicated decisions. I’ve worked with local and federal agencies, taught negotiation and leadership at Tufts, and guided public engagement processes through challenging terrain.
What sets me apart is my ability to help people feel heard—even when they disagree—and to make complicated, technical information accessible so communities can make informed decisions together.
In a moment when big challenges require both rigor and trust, I bring professional experience in collaborative problem-solving and a steady commitment to respectful, inclusive dialogue.
If elected, I’ll bring four key priorities to the Planning Board:
Listening to residents with care and transparency;
Practicality in weighing what will actually work for Carlisle;
Making information more accessible so people can follow complex issues; and
Supporting good process and building consensus—with the goal of finding a solution Carlislians can trust.
Carlisle is facing big questions about housing and state mandates. The Planning Board is doing the hard work of aligning the MBTA Communities Act with our Master Plan and with our community values. These are complex conversations—but with the right approach, we can respond in a way that reflects our values and keeps our community strong.
